Meet Sully

Okay, I've realized that while I post lots of pics of Sully I don't really say much about who he is.

So here is a brief rundown of The Sullinator:

He loves to hear the alphabet sung. He will clap at the end everytime. When you get to the "now I know my ABCs..." he starts bobbing his head and usually stands up. So he can give a standing ovation, you know. ;o) He recognizes that letters are letters...like in a book that has one letter on each page he'll point and say "T" or whatever. Never the right letter but at least he has the idea.

He does the same thing with numbers in a book. He can also count to ten...usually he starts counting at either 3 or 5 but he actually can count to ten in the proper order. Here is a picture of him trying to use his fingers to count today.

Sully really doesn't say a whole lot but he talks pretty much non-stop. He has long-winded conversations, to which I respond "and then what happened?" or "okay". I always hope I'm not agreeing to something crazy.

He always says "du fyke" instead of thank you, and "juice" instead of water or milk. He can say tractor, dog-dog, Keaton, no bark, no throw, butterfly...so he can say some "big" words but he really doesn't use the words much. Sometimes in his babble I will kind of get the idea of what he is really saying. Mostly I just nod my head and agree with him.

Sullivan is the cuddliest creature you could ever imagine. He loves, loves, loves to have his baby & binky and lie on the couch with Mike while they watch tv. Lots of times he lies right on top of Mike. He gives sweet kisses (though, admittedly, they are usually a little snotty) and blows the cutest kisses. Something you need to see in person, for sure. Sully is the type of kid who comes up to me, three or four times in a day, just to be held. :o)

But...he is also the busiest, most getting-into-everything kid you can imagine! He has learned to take chairs up to the counter to reach the things up there. His very favorite thing to find is gum! He gobbles it up so fast, I can't get it out of his mouth before he swallows it. He's also happy if he finds eyeglasses to bend, pens with which to write on the walls, or a wallet. He gets a hold of Mike's wallet a couple of times a week and always removes the debit & credit card and puts the wallet down. Lol. This is why I suggest you hide your valuables when Sullivan is in town.

He's super silly and loves to put on any extra gear. Note in the picture that he has a bike helmet AND rain boots on. With shorts. He walked around like that for hours. He loves to copy what Keaton is doing. Keaton carries around a Ziploc baggy with all his little robots inside; last night I gave Sullivan some Jungle Book figurines and put them in a Ziploc for him. He was absolutely thrilled! He ran upstairs and jumped on his bed and, while giggling, pulled out all the creatures and played with them. Sometimes, two-year-olds are easy to please. Sometimes. ;o)

Sully is also an avid book "reader". Most of the time when I notice the house is quiet I find him upstairs, surrounded by books. Sometimes I give him books from the dollar store and he says "Ohhhhhh!!!!" and sits down immediately to go through the book. His favorite right now are alphabet & number books, though picture books are a close second. We have to put a babygate in front of his bedroom door at night or he will escape. (probably to go get some gum or a wallet. lol.) I will frequently hear him hollering something at the gate. When I go check, he is usually pointing to the playroom saying "book!". He loves to take books to bed with him. Occasionally there isn't room for Sullivan in his own bed since he has so many books!

Sully loves to dance. He can find a rhythm in anything! On t.v. he loves The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and The Wonder Pets. He also loves Teletubbies but we don't get that channel anymore. :o( He will yell at the t.v. when the opening songs are coming on or there's a part that he remembers. In The Wonder Pets they sing "What's gonna work?" and Sully will yell "Teamwork!" Sully has an amazing attention span for t.v. for such a young guy. He can honestly sit through an entire movie.

Sully is a huge animal fan. He loves the new kittens like mad. He puts his head on them all the time, just for a snuggle. Notice the huge smile on his face as he snuggles into Moose. =^..^= He also loves dog-dogs....too bad he's allergic!
Okay, so that is Sully. He's much better in person but this gives a pretty good description of who is this Sullivan Patrick. :o)

Patti,
What an adorable post about Sully. We can't wait to see him (and Keaton) soon. I will know him a little bit better because of your blog.
The weather here is stormy over the weekend, but it is supposed to warm up during the week.
We hope your trip goes well, and we will see you soon!

Ha! I did notice on the section about his love of letters that he's giving you the L for loser sign (photo). I'd say he knows his letters plenty well! ;-)
