Sulky Sully

I get to spend this week with Sully while Keats is in his last few days of School of Rock. Tomorrow we have a trip planned to Portland to meet up with a friend of mine who recently had a baby. Otherwise, we're just gonna take each day as it comes as far as entertainment goes.
So...Saturday, Sullivan was in the worst mood ever. Sunday, he was the absolute sweetest kid for the entire day. He gave hugs, kisses, cuddles...just a doll. Today not-so-much of a good mood going on. ;o) I took him to the footbridge so he could ride the carousel a couple of times and then play on the playground for a while. He did fine, but you can see from the photos that he wasn't real happy with me.

He wanted to sit at this bench for a snack but he wouldn't sit right next to me. To torment him, I pulled out the camera. This shot shows him telling me "NOOOOO!!!!" but I took the pic anyway.
So he picked up his stuff and went to sit near the monkey bars. Lol. Luckily we ran into some friends so Sully got to hang out with them for a while.

Busy Saturday Morning

The weather here today is absolutely gorgeous! We decided to get out early to do some hiking or something. Sully was in the WORST mood, however, which limited our willingness to drive a long time. After ruling out a few familiar hikes, and one that is an hour away, we headed down to the new footbridge. This weekend at the riverfront is World Beat. This is just what it sounds like: lots of multicultural music, booths, and food. There is also the great playground at the riverfront so we decided to make that our destination.
Mike and the boys were checking out the new sprinkler pad at the riverfront park. Soon we'll be able to walk across the footbridge and let the boys run in this big fountain. Fun stuff! As they reached the far side of the water pad, a parade started to walk by...so they came running over to check it out.
The dragon was, of course, the best part of the parade as far as the Moore Boys were concerned.

Mmmmmm....some sort of snow cone.

Their plush ride.

This wagon was one of the best things we bought for the boys. Mike lugs it around for several miles each week. It is by far the best thing to take on the footbridge because you can load it up with supplies and the boys still have room to jump in & out.

Just cutie Sullivan, slapping his hand on the rails as we walk back to the car.

We headed to a different fountain to cool off. This one is in West Salem, so is just a couple of miles from our place.

Here is Keats, daring the water to spray him. ;o)

Okay. This shot kills me. I looked over and noticed Sullivan hiking his britches up as far as they would go...then he plopped his hands on his hips and just watched Keats playing in the fountain. What a goober. A cute cute cute goober...but a goober none-the-less.

Sully reenacted the dragon he saw in the parade. Keaton asked "Sully, are you a monster?" to which Sully yelled, "No!! I'm a DRAGON!!"

Think he'll voluntarily do this in ten years? Well, I can dream, can't I?
We moved into the backyard when we came home. It was still a little early to put Sully in bed and Sully was still super grumpy. Outside yelling is better than inside yelling!

Just a cute close-up.
Here are the boys checking out our garden. We had some of our homegrown broccoli last night. I hope we get LOTS more because Keaton couldn't get enough of it.

Sully is digging through the broccoli plants and Keats is very possessive of them...so he's hollering at Sullivan not to touch them.

Hmmmm....future peeping tom? ;o)

And Another One's Gone

Keats lost his third tooth last night at dinner. His top teeth have been very loose for a long time now, but the tooth he lost is on the bottom, next to the middle. When I picked Keaton up at school yesterday he came up to me with a shocked look on his face and his hand in his mouth. He just said "Look!!" and showed me a very floppy tooth. ;o) He pulled the tooth out himself at the dinner table, after crunching on a carrot. He pulled the last tooth out himself as well. I guess when presents and cash are involved, he finds himself highly motivated. The Tooth Fairy left him five bucks...which Keats promptly stuffed into his piggy bank.

Randomness

Silly Uncle Vince, wearing Erin's jacket.

So....Sully had his very first soccer practice yesterday. Notice the not-so-happy look on his face? Notice that the ball is in his hands rather than on the ground, being kicked? That's pretty much how his practice went...all four minutes he lasted in practice, that is. ;o) Mike gave up right away and took Sully to play at the nearby playground. After a while, Mike called and asked how Keaton's game was going, and I could hear Sully yelling in the background. I asked Mike if he wanted to trade places and he very quickly said, "Yes." So, Debbie & I headed to the playground where I found Sully in the baby swing, soccer ball firmly in his hands, yelling about who-knows-what. We took him to the river to throw some rocks, and that helped take his mind off of his two-year-old-ness. ;o)

Keaton's soccer practice went well, however. He had lots of fun. Since it was the very first practice it all seemed very chaotic to me, but he says it was fun. Keats knows at least one of the kids from preschool so he didn't need much of a warming up time as far as shyness goes.

Yummy vino. Buy some!

Mike found out that 7-11 has Transformer cups & Slurpees so he asked if I'd take Keats to get one. Talk about a happy kid! I hadn't been in a 7-11 since I-don't-know-when but have been in three times in two weeks. Keaton LOVES the Slurpees. And they taste better coming from a Transformer cup, of course. ;o) Here he is showing off his "Harvester" cup. Harvester is a Decepticon, in case you didn't know...not to be confused with an Autobot. And don't even get me started about Dinobots... ;o)

Relay For Life

Lots of pics to post here! We did the Relay For Life from noon on the 19th until noon on the 20th. Debbie, Sharrie, Tami, and I all did about six hours each of walking and stayed awake almost the entire time. Our team, SisterLove, raised over $2000 in just two months! We have already signed up for next year and are planning four big fundraising events.

Our camp site. Each team is given a 20x20 space for tents & awnings. I just bought this awning last month and am so happy that I did! The weather was just crazy...rain, wind, sun, rain, cooooold...it couldn't make up it's mind.

The very first lap. We invited anyone who wanted to walk the first lap to come out with us. Here (L-R) is Ginger, Kenna, Debbie, Tami, and Sharrie with Alex in the baby bjorn.

Cutie Alex!

Bette & Kenna (Michelle's mom & niece)

Sharrie (Michelle's sister), Kenna, and Bette in the purple "survivor" shirt.

Mason, Debbie, Vince, and Erin doing their first lap.

Sully gave a big hug to this bear...
...but Keats was only interested in a fist bump ;o)

Lots of teams have fundraisers at their campsite. This place offered "fishing" for $1. The boys could choose their own gift if they caught a fish (cheating was allowed...luckily!) What did they choose?...

...little boxes of goldfish crackers!

Keats & Sully cheering on their Daddy as he runs past...

Keaton was so proud to wear his shirt. He raised $100 for the Relay and he walked at least four laps on his own.

Ginger was one of the nice people who hung out with us for a while, willing to walk when she was needed.

Kathy & Lillian...two ladies I graduated high school with. Lillian walked the opening hour with SisterLove and later she caught up with Kathy, who was walking with her employer's team. (I've already hit Kathy up to walk with SisterLove next year!)

The Duggan-Miller Clan showing off their Relay shirts & Relay smiles. ;o)

To be honest, Sully's favorite part was probably the Tootsie Pops. Lol.

Tami & Sharrie walking as the luminaria were being set up.

One of the luminaria I made for Michelle.

The luminaria in the front was made by Keaton.

Our SisterLove luminaria.

Dawn, Sharrie, and Tami doing some laps Saturday morning when we were all pretty loopy.

Vince, Keats, and Debbie just hanging in the campsite.

Sully just looks so cute all squished into the chairs!

Keaton liked the "doggy doors" on Sharrie's tent.

Saturday morning and Sully was sleepy! Here he is relaxing on his cousin Erin.

And when Erin had to get up, Sully happily moved over to Uncle Vince's lap!

Multitasker: eating a HUGE piece of cake while doing some laps.

One of the very last laps: Dawn, Debbie, Tami, Sharrie, and that is Sophie in the front. Or "Soapy" as Sully calls her. ;o)
This is the final lap. Vince, Erin, Debbie, Sharrie, Tami, Sage, and Dawn.
