Crazy Hair Day

Keats has Crazy Hair Day coming up on Wednesday. He's on Spring Break now but will go all week to his after-school program...he'll just be there all day long. There are all kinds of activities planned: Teddy Bear Picnic, Pajama Day, Lazer Golf & Pizza Day, Gymnastics Day...and Wednesday is Wacky Wednesday: Crazy Hair, don't let your kid wear good clothes because they're going to be getting into all kinds of goop (literally), and just basic good, crazy fun all week.

It is only Sunday but Keats & I decided it was Crazy Hair Day here so we could practice his 'do. You see, Keats is very particular about his hair. In a six-year-old-boy way. He doesn't like his hair sticking up or combed back...he smashes is all forward every morning. He was really excited about Crazy Hair Day but I wasn't really sure how he'd handle his hair being colored, and didn't know about the faux-hawk idea...but he loves it! Hopefully I won't find green & blue streaks all over the house!

Easy Rider

That title is a blatant lie. Notice that none of the shots below appear to be action shots? That's because Sully doesn't actually try to move the bike on his own. We are at that stressful stage where he wants to do it but he wants.to.be.able.to.do.it.right.now.this.very.second and so he throws a fit when I try to help...throws a fit when I don't offer help. Hopefully this is a short-lived stage!

We had such a beautiful morning last Thursday. I told Sully we could go to Riverfront Park and ride the carousel and play on the play structure. However, I parked at the far lot and told him he had to ride his bike all the way to the carousel. He wasn't very happy, to say the least, but he got on his bike and we made it to the park, so it all work out just fine. :o)

Technology Meets Imagination...

We had Jamey over a couple of weeks ago. The boys had so much fun dressing up. They all had masks and capes for the majority of the evening. Even while they ate pizza. ;o)

Sully, a.k.a. BatSpiderMan, is doing some computer work while ordering Daddy to change the tv show.

Jamey, a.k.a. BatBatMan, noticed Mike changed the tv "channel" with his iPod Touch and wanted full instruction on how this magic happened...

...Mike was only too happy to explain. Jamey kept looking from the iPod to the tv to the iPod...his brain nearly began smoking from being BLOWN AWAY by this technology.

Keats & gRona

We dog-sat gRona for a night & day. Keats LOVES his gRona! He tells me she's his best friend...you know, when Moose isn't around to hear him say that. Lol.

We took gRona to the field behind Keaton's school. This property was sold to a developer a few years ago and some sort of retirement facility, as well as something like 17 private homes, were planned. The field was mowed, a gravel road put in place, sewer system installed...and then the project went belly-up. Bad for the developer but good for us!! We love this field. In the summer we pick pears & blackberries here. Surely these trees & berries will be removed when the site is eventually developed so I make sure we use this area as much as possilble.

And, now that Spring has sprung, we're able to get to the field to play. Here are shots of Keats playing with gRona in the field...and shots of Keats plain old being cute.

Spring Is Springin'

These pics didn't come out like I'd hoped...I need to read about how to take this kind of photo, or at least go out and play around with this stuff some more. But, hopefully I get my point across: Spring Is Coming!! Yay!

My Newest (Canine) Nephew

Meet Badger. He's, uhhh....well, I don't remember what mix of breeds he is but I do know that he's a mix of c.u.t.e.! He was born around Christmas Day. :o)

Cute chubby, freckly belly!

Playing tug-of-war with his big sister, gRona. (Okay, her name is Rona but Sully still calls her GRona...so I've dubbed her gRona)

Pacific City

We had so much fun during our trip to the beach that we are definitely going back, hopefully sometime while the weather is relatively warm. Like May-September. Who wants to come with us?? Utah family?? Anyone in?? We loved the home we rented, called The Laughing Place. We can rent separate homes or a big home with another family. If we could stay a week, having our own places would be great but not necessary. Check out the site and see what you think:

The Millers

These are for Ginger to peruse. Let me know if you want the original file of any of these and I'll email them to you!

Party In The Park

I took Sully to Phoebe's birthday party in Corvallis on Sunday. Keats couldn't go secondary to a terrible bad no good attitude...but that's a whole 'nother post! Lol. Sully had a very fun time, though, and I definitely want to go back to this park with both the boys. The first pic is "dinosaur bones" that the kids can climb on. What a great idea!

Above, he's roaring. Like a dino. Cuteness.

Fitting with the theme of the party (at a nature discovery center) the kids painted wooden snakes. When you hold them out, they wiggle side-to-side. The snakes, not the kids. ;o)

Making goo. Just goo. Or maybe it is called slime? Not sure, but it was pretty fun for all the kids.

Sully really liked the little dead snake in a bag. Euw.

Petting a tortoise. Or, more correctly, quickly touching it and then justa s quickly withdrawing his hand.

Big ol' choo choo on which to climb.
