Five And Counting

Keaton turned five today. He was soooo excited and couldn't wait for today to arrive. Once he was up, after I sang happy birthday to him, almost the first words out of his mouth were, "Next I'm going to be SIX!" I reminded him that he shouldn't grow up too fast. ;o) Mom's not ready for a teenager...or grandkids. Lol.
To start his day, he wrapped up in a cozy blanket and I let him watch a Transformer episode, which is something that I never, ever do!Next, he sat down to a cup of hot chocolate. What could be better? Hot chocolate and his favorite kitty to cuddle with.
Kissing his best friend.

I bought him a new hat & mittens since I realized we were ill-prepared for this snowy weather. We went out to the backyard to play for a while. He really liked eating the snow!

My favorite picture of the day!

I started taping Sullivan's manners, and methods, at dinnertime. This was to be proof that I DO clean my house (and my son)...it just doesn't matter. Seconds later Hurricane Sully hits and I have to rebuild yet again. ;o) Anyhoo, then Keats started being silly so you get a two-Moores-for-the-price-of-one video.

Snow Day!!

I'm not sure how much snow fell here in the Valley but I do know that it was more than we usually get all year. The bonus was that it actually stuck...and stayed all night! This morning it was bright & sunny outside, as well as being around 20 degrees...brrrrrr..., so I bundled up the boys and we headed out to play.

Actually, it wasn't as easy as it sounds. I made them both wear tight pj bottoms under their pants. This caused loads of whining from Keats. Then came the new snowboots, followed by statements like these: "They feel too funny!" and "I don't want to do ANYFING today" and "I don't need a jacket; I'm wearing a shirt." *sigh* We did finally make it outside, though, and had fun. For ten minutes. By then we were all freezing our patooties off.

I can't wait until the construction is complete in our neighborhood. I can't tell you how many of this type of picture I take of the boys that has that lovely blue outhouse, as well as the tractor, in the background.
Making a snow angel.

Sullivan was actually saying "Cheeeeeeeese" here. lol.

Keaton's Birthday Bash

We celebrated Keaton's fifth birthday today, three days early. The party was at the NW Kids Club and was very fun. Plus, Mom didn't have to clean up! ;o) Some friends didn't show up but Keats didn't seem to mind; he was in birthday-boy euphoria! For gifts, he received several Transformers, some Batman figurines, a color board, books, a rock n' roll t-shirt (that he is wearing right now, btw) and Transformer walkie-talkies. Mommy & Daddy gave him a new Transformer bike. Lucky boy, huh?!
We had pizza after the kids played at the playground for a while.

This is the special chair for the birthday boy to sit in while opening presents.
The bike was saved for last and was snuck in to surprise Keats.
The fancy birthday cake. I gave the Cake Lady (don't know what they are called) "creative freedom" to fill up the empty spaces of the cake since the Transformer applique was so small. She did a fantastic job! It looked like Optimus Prime was on some distant planet. ;o)
He was red-faced while we sang Happy Birthday.

Big Boy Lunch

Sullivan has been a little jealous of Keaton's lunch box the past few days. I usually feed Sully lunch while I am packing Keaton's lunch for school. At school, Keaton was initially supposed to eat just a snack, which fit nicely into the Spiderman bag. Now the teacher wants the kids to bring their entire lunch (since class begins just after noon), so we had to move up to the larger firetruck lunch box. Today I had the brilliant idea of serving Sully's lunch in the Spiderman bag so that he could feel like a big boy. He very much loved the experience. :o) When we left to take Keats to school, Sullivan absolutely insisted on carrying his lunch bag. He even took it into the classroom! I expected a big tantrum when it was time for us to leave Keaton at school but Sullivan was very cooperative and just said 'bye to everyone.

The chocolate milk is the biggest treat of all. I hide this stuff because it is only for Keaton's school lunch. That way we won't run out every 24 hours. ;o) I'm sure Sully felt like a very big boy indeed once he saw that his lunch bag contained the coveted chocolate milk!

Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree

I made the boys each a "drum" today. Which proves that I'm a kind and excellent (crazy?) mother because I have a nasty headache. ;o) One drum was made out of a graham cracker box and the other was made out of a huge animal cracker container; this one was plastic and therefore the loudest. And therefore this is the drum that Keaton chose. Here's Keats rockin' out in front of the Christmas tree.

Growing...Things...

Keaton had a very active morning. He ran around in his underwear, hiding under a blanket pretending to be a ghost and sneaking up on everyone; once, he even smacked his head into a wall due to not looking where he was going. Later on he switched to playing with a magnetic train set...while sitting on the top of his dresser. He was pretending to take seeds to different places and plant different plants. I overheard him say "I'm planting cocoa trees" so I asked what exactly is a cocoa tree? He told me that cocoa trees grew cups filled with hot chocolate with marshmallows on top. :o) He played some more while I was only halfway listening. Suddenly my ears caught on to something in his conversation so I began listening more intently. Keaton said, to his train set, "Now I'm going to grow some balls." I nearly died. Seriously, it took years off my life to laugh so hard.

Sully had an interesting day today as well. He refused to change out of his pajamas, which drives me completely nuts. We weren't going anywhere so I let him win that one. The rest of the morning he spent getting right in my face and yelling "THIS IS A Q!!" while holding up a magnetic Q. (some sort of crazy magnetic thing going on around here. Lol.) Sully's "Q" is pronounced something like 'chew or two. Very cute. At times Sullivan calls a letter the wrong name just to get in an argument regarding exactly which letter he is holding. He always has this mischievous smile on his face while calling a "K" a "C" or a "V" a "W". What a goofball.

Paging Dr. Moore

Keaton has spent the last few nights setting up some fairly elaborate patient exam room/offices. Tonight he pulled a chest to the center of the playroom, brought in a chair, a drill, a bear, a magnetic writing board for notes/orders/ideas, tape, a flashlight, and an assitant (beginning with Daddy and ending with Mommy). He drilled the bear, apparently in order to have openings for the water medicine, and then covered the drill marks with tape. Lots & lots of tape. The headphones are supposed to be like the ones pilots wear. I'm not sure why he needs them.

I have started giving the boys a bath in the morning. Keaton's hair looks SO much better for school since he's not going to bed with super wet hair! We don't leave for school until a little after noon so we have plenty of time to bathe. Here are pics from this morning.

In this last pic, Keaton is telling me "Look Mom! When I do this I can make my ears fart! Listen!"

Mee-Shell, My Belle

Wow. I never realized how much more mature Michelle was than I am.
Wait. Yes I did. Its just that now we have photographic proof!

So, the funny thing about all these crazy pics (and, yes, I think this is the last post of them...for now, anyway!) is that it doesn't actually take alcohol for us all to get this silly. We have it in our blood, particularly when we're together. The alcohol definitely adds to the silliness, but I cannot honestly blame all this goofiness on drinking. :o)

You Can't Change DNA

Towards the end of the night, after a few (several, maybe ten) (jk) drinks, Debbie and I get this great idea to take pictures of ourselves. As you can clearly see, dorkiness is a genetic trait. ;o)

What's up with all the closed eyes, sistah? Think we'd not know it was you? Lol.

Baby Bump

Sharrie Lee is due to have Baby Alex on December 30th. I was really, really, heavily suggesting (threatening, really) that she should have him on my birthday. Fair is fair. I had Sullivan on her birthday. But. She is still pregnant. Maybe Alex is waiting for Keaton's birthday? Either way, I can't wait to meet him! I'm such a baby hog!!!

The hands of me, Debbie, Tami, and Michelle, resting on the Baby Alex Buddha Belly.
Same hands as above except now Mama's hand is there, too.

She loves that baby!

But this is the very best picture. Turned out so great!!

More Silly Pics

I can't help it. These pics are a hoot! And I'm only allowed five pics per post so this may take a few posts. ;o)

Michelle, Tami, and Sharrie Lee. I'm sure they were singing in perfect harmony...

Debbie, Tami, Michelle, and Sharrie Lee. It was nearly impossible to get a pic with Sharrie's eyes open!
Me, Michelle, Tami, and Sharrie Lee.

Peace out, sistah.

Lol. This is one of my top three favorite shirts. Debbie had one that read "Sweet Jesus I hate Bill O'Reilly" and my other fav is one with a heartbeat that shows a flat line for a while and it reads "For a minute there you bored me to death."
Now that I've digressed, time to post more pics that my friends & sister will get pissed at me for posting!
